Itinerary

Days 1 to 4 - Over night flight and then a stay at Stanley Safari Lodge

An over night flight to Livingstone Airport. On your arrival you will be met by one of our partners and transferred to Stanley Safari Lodge where you will get to spend the first two nights at Stanley Safari Lodge in a twin/single "closed" suite with en suite facilities on a full board basis including local brand drinks and laundry.

Stanley Safari Lodge is situated on a hill with a view of the spray from the Victoria Falls in the far distance. At Stanley Safari Lodge the emphasis is on relaxing, personalised service and delicious meals that are served in the dining room, in the garden under a starlit sky or in the intimacy of your suite. Although no activities are included in the nightly rate there is a huge choice available in and around the Falls and Livingstone town.

On the forth day of your holiday you will transfer from Stanley Safari Lodge to Livingstone Airport for transfer by light aircraft from Livingstone Airport, via Mpacha Airport for Namibian customs and immigration, to Immelman airstrip, flying time approximately 50 minutes over the Zambezi floodplains and the Caprivi Strip. From Immelman airstrip transfer by road to Susuwe Island Lodge through Bwabwata National Park, approximately 30 minutes.

Days 4 to 7 - Three amazing nights at Susuwe Island Lodge

Three amazing nights at Susuwe Island Lodge

Spend the next three nights at Susuwe Island Lodge in a twin/single bedded suite with bathroom on a full board basis, including scheduled game viewing activities, park fees, local brand drinks during meals and on activities and laundry.

Set on remote Birre Island in the heart of Namibia's Caprivi Strip, Susuwe Island Lodge has six romantic suites each with private plunge pool. Imaginative al-fresco cuisine and picnics complement the lodge activities which include day and night game drives in the Bwabwata National Park, leisurely boat cruises on the meandering Kwando River and its backwaters at sunset or sunrise, guided nature walks, outstanding birding and fishing.

On the seventh day a road transfer from Susuwe Island Lodge to Immelman airstrip for transfer by light aircraft to Impalila Island airstrip, flying time approximately 50 minutes over the spectacular Caprivi Strip and Chobe floodplains.

Days 7 to 9 - The Incredible Impalila Island Lodge

The Incredible Impalila Island Lodge

Spend the next two amazing nights at Impalila Island Lodge in a twin/single chalet with en suite facilities on a full board basis, including scheduled game viewing activities, park fees, local brand drinks during meals and on activities and laundry.

Each chalet has its own dedicated guide and boat which means activities are totally flexible. These include guided walks and game cruises along the Chobe River with possible sightings of large herds of elephant, buffalo, hippo and lion. Birding and fishing is excellent as tiger fish, bream and African pike abound in the lagoons, channels and rapids of the Zambezi and Chobe rivers. A visit to a traditional fishing village provides an opportunity to learn about traditional plant use in herbal medicines and introduce you to the timeless ways of the local people.

On the ninth day you transfer by boat to Kasane Immigration clearing Namibian customs and immigration en route. Continue by road the short distance from Kasane Immigration to Kasane Airport. Transfer by light aircraft from Kasane Airport to Kwando Lebala airstrip. Flying time approximately 55 minutes.

Days 9 to 12 - The Wetlands of the Kwando Lebala Camp

The Wetlands of the Kwando Lebala Camp

The next three nights are spent at Kwando Lebala Camp in a twin/single luxury tent with en suite bathroom on a full board basis, including scheduled game viewing activities, park fees, local brand drinks and laundry.

The wetlands and wide open flood plains around Lebala are home to a variety of wildlife providing excellent sightings of elephant, hippo, lechwe, zebra, giraffe, tsessebe, roan, sable, buffalo and the very present predators; wild dog, lion, cheetah and hyena. Morning, afternoon and night game drives with guide and tracker are by open safari vehicle that seat a maximum of six guests.

on day 12 of the safari you transfer by light aircraft from Kwando Lebala airstrip to Xaxaba airstrip. Flying time approx 40 minutes.

Days 12 to 15 - The Spectacular Eagle Island Camp

The Spectacular Eagle Island Camp

The last two nights will be spent at Eagle Island Camp in a twin / single luxury chalet style tent with en suite facilities on a full board basis, including scheduled game viewing activities, park fees, local brand drinks and laundry.

With a stunning setting overlooking a lagoon Eagle Island offers fantastic birding opportunities. Bird and game viewing is done either from motorised boats or by mokoro which are poled effortlessly and quietly through the clear waters of the Okavango. Guided game and bird walks take place on surrounding islands. Evenings may be spent enjoying a sundowner cruise or watching a magnificent Delta sunset from the romantic Fish Eagle bar. During the months of December - March, when water levels are low game viewing is conducted by 4x4 vehicle or on foot. Optional scenic flights by helicopter may be arranged at extra cost.

On day 14 you will transfer by light aircraft from Xaxaba airstrip to Maun Airport. Flying time approx 20 minutes where you check in for your international over night flight home.

• Optional scenic flights by helicopter may be arranged at extra cost between 01 November and 31 December 2007

• The helicopter flight is included in the rate from 01 January 2008 – 31 October 2008 as this is compulsory when staying at Eagle Island Camp during this period.
