Days 1 to 2 - Windhoek - Okaukuejo-rest camp (450km)

Your 4x4 off-road adventure starts with a pick up from your Hotel in Windhoek at around 08:30. You will be taken to our base for the vehicle handover procedures to be completed. Departure is planned at around 10:30. We travel north on the B1 highway via Otjiwarongo and Outjo to the Etosha National Park. Our camp for the night is at the Okaukuejo-rest camp (Approximately 450 km). We stock up on supplies for the next couple of days along the route at a super market. We have time for a game-drive in the area of Okaukuejo. Later in the evening we go to the flood-lit waterhole which borders the camp where you can sit back and relax while the animals come to drink until deep into the night.
Meals included: Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 - Camp in scenic private game reserve

Camp in scenic private game reserve Early morning a game drive is planned in the vicinity of Okaukuejo. We leave Etosha after brunch later in the morning and travel via Outjo and Kamanjab to Hobatere. Our camp is at a picturesque site in this scenic private game reserve. Close to camp is a hide in the hills overlooking a waterhole, frequented by wildlife such as Hartmann’s mountain zebra, gemsbok, and giraffe (Approximately 265 km).

Days 4 to 5 - Visit a traditional Himba village.

We leave early in the morning and travel north via Opuwa, where we stock up on fuel and provisions before moving on to Epupa Falls (Approximately 340km). We set up camp for the next 2 nights on the palm tree lined banks of the Kunene River. On day 4 our program includes a visit to the falls and the surrounding area, as well as the highlight of a visit to a traditional Himba village. Off-road driver training is carried out today on one of the steep rocky tracks in the area of the campsite. This will prepare us for the off-road driving that lies ahead over the next couple of days. Kaokoveld is located in the far north-west and is one of the particularly untouched regions in Namibia. The barely accessible area south of the Kunene River is the home of the Himba ethnic group who has kept their ethnic individuality and culture in the seclusion of Kaokoland. Travelling through this region is only possible under expedition-like conditions in off-road vehicles and, furthermore, should only be done under the leadership of an experienced guide. Tracks are hardly signposted, corrugated and extremely stoney or sandy.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6 - Overnight in the wild

Overnight in the wild We backtrack to Okangwati and head for Otjitanda. The total distance is only 140 km. But we will probably take most of the day to get there, depending on the road conditions. Overnight in the wild, close to the top of the Van Zyl’s Pass. (Approximately 140 km)
